03 Boredom Manifesto
DOC 234—34/2

CHALLENGE: Create a manifesto and accompanying visual system that explores a personally meaningful idea. The project required both a printed publication and a large-scale poster, encouraging a strong conceptual approach and cohesive design execution.

SOLUTION:I chose to center my manifesto on the importance of boredom, highlighting the value of stillness, the need to disconnect, and how boredom can lead to creative breakthroughs. The visual language embraces minimalism to reflect the theme abstractly: a black-and-white palette, Helvetica type, and a series of irregular, hand-drawn shapes, that resemble the kind of marks one might doodle while daydreaming. The publication introduces a more active voice, using bold yellow-green tippings to emphasize key ideas and prompt reflection, turning a quiet concept into a quiet call to action.
